What to expect if you’re a candidate registering for temporary work with us
So you’re looking for temp work in construction or manufacturing? You’ve come to the right place! Here at Net Temps, we believe in building positive connections. Take the first step by calling us on 0115 940 0968 to discuss what temp work we have in your area, it’s free – so why wait?!
We have a wealth of opportunities from temp work, and freelance roles to permanent opportunities and we can put you in touch with the right team to discuss your needs in depth.
During that first initial call, we will need to take some brief details from you, such as the precise type of work that you’re interested in. This will include basic contact details in order that we can offer you e-mail and text message job alerts about suitable roles which are local to you. These alerts will contain details of roles that have just come into our office, so you can be assured that you only receive details about new roles that we are currently working on.
We post jobs across multiple sites such as Reed, and CV library as well as our website, be sure to check often or call us to secure your roles before they go!
We will also ask you about the tickets, licences and qualifications that you have in order to ensure that any work offered is appropriate. The information that you provide to us is saved into our fully searchable database; which allows us to match workers to opportunities that meet their precise specifications.
We will also seek confirmation that you have the right to work in the UK, and provide you with details as to how you can provide us with evidence of this.
Temp Work
Should we be able to offer you temp work, we will discuss the pay rates, hours of work, and the tasks and duties associated with that role. We will also provide you with information about the client induction process together with any health and safety issues that have been made known to us. We will also provide you with information about parking and/or public transport. This detailed discussion about the role being offered ensures that you can make an informed decision about whether the opportunity is right for you and also makes that first day on assignment a little bit smoother as you know exactly what to expect.
Following the call, you will receive this information in writing, together with a link to our electronic registration pack. You can use either a mobile phone, tablet or PC to complete our electronic registration process. Once complete, you will be sent an e-mail copy of the registration form that you have completed for your own records.
During the first few days of the assignment we check in with you, to ensure that you have found the site ok, and a few days later to ensure that you are getting on well with the role.
All temporary workers receive payment one week in arrears, and we will obtain your timesheet hours from our client on your behalf, so you don’t have to.
Permanent Roles
Those candidates interested in permanent roles can expect to receive a more in-depth conversation about their career expectations, personal motivations and prospective employers of choice, to include information about typical remuneration packages in the current employment market. These discussions are confidential and we’re happy to schedule them for a time convenient to you.
You will be asked to provide us with a CV, and we will always review this to ensure that your skills and experience are highlighted to the best effect. We will only send your CV to a third party with your consent and in connection with a role that we have discussed with you.
